Manchester United are already under way in November and Wayne Rooney netted an early Goal of the Month contender against Fenerbahce. But which strike should win October’s accolade?
The shortlist for United’s Goal of the Month for October features a variety of goals, from long-range strikes to solo runs across the different age groups.
Four first-team strikes are in contention: Anthony Martial’s curling effort against Stoke City, Paul Pogba’s sublime finish from distance in the home win over Fenerbahce, Jesse Lingard’s thumping drive from outside the box against the same opponents and Juan Mata’s low effort to defeat Manchester City in the EFL Cup.
At Under-23 level, Joe Riley’s cool finish against Tottenham Hotspur earns him a nomination, while Under-18s starlet Tahith Chong provides the final entry on this month’s list, a lovely solo effort in the 5-2 victory away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Watch all six strikes above. The winner will be announced on Thursday 10 November.
